George Zimmerman’s Attorney, Mark O’Mara, held a news conference outside of Sanford’s Criminal Justice Center where he appears to ask the public for reflection.  Sanford, Fl Criminal Justice CenterHe presented several interesting points of view: Zimmerman is a victim, in that, the nation’s attention is focused on him in a negative way; this case is dividing America and would continue to do so; that Zimmerman seems to be the focus of how the nation’s judicial system practices an injustice against African-Americans; and if that’s the case; he would take part in a national discussion about injustice in America.  O’Mara’s position is simply strange. Trayvon Martin was an African-American boy and George Zimmerman, a white man, killed him, but Zimmerman is the victim.  For O’Mara to say that, is furthering disrespect for Trayvon’s family and a barefaced disregard for Trayvon life.   It’s understandable the O’Mara and his team would go to any length to defend their client, but to project him as the victim and a target of injustice is simply immoral.

Zimmerman approached Trayvon and dared him to go ahead; perhaps; there was an argument; but Zimmerman’s intent was to kill and not to physically fight; he was packing a gun and Trayvon had no weapon.  Finally, Trayvon is dead; he can’t defend himself in a court of law; that’s where the fight should’ve taken place; but Zimmerman decided to end his life as he became police, judge, jury, and executioner.
